Better Fuel Filtration—Born from Necessity
About 25 years ago, we bought a sailboat. Like many, we assumed the diesel engine would be the most reliable part of the vessel. We were wrong.
After a year of unexpected engine shutdowns, endless filter changes, and messy, frustrating priming jobs in tight spaces, we realized the real problem wasn’t the engine—it was the fuel system.
We searched for a complete solution: something that could filter, polish, prime, warn, and protect. Nothing like that existed. So we built it.
From Frustration to Innovation
We didn’t just want a fuel filter—we wanted a complete diesel fuel maintenance system. One that would:
- Let us switch to a clean filter without shutting the engine down
- Prime the system without needing an external fuel source
- Serve as a backup pump when needed
- And give us early warning from the cockpit before a clog shut the engine off
Out of that need, we created the original FilterBoss. It worked so well that we never worried about our fuel again. And we realized: other boaters needed this too.
